Just Announced: The Stoves & El tin Fun!

That is correct! Just announced are two new shows in December, so hopefully the Winter won’t be too bad. First off, is Dec 1st, where THE STOVES will be playing at the Brink Lounge. If you remember, The Stoves were just there on Sept 5th alongside Paper Mache & Noah Gundersen. This show is part of the Mad Toast Live series, and we hope you support that by checking out a great young group featuring members of the Sharp & Harkins Band!
Then, on Dec 6th, El tin Fun, Meeting of Important People, and Noise Floor will be at The Frequency! El tin Fun features one member from Meteorade, and brings a sound similar to them, as well as Sonic Youth.

Just Announced: ENTER THE HAGGIS

On Wednesday November 11th
Enter The Haggis
will be appearing live in concert
in Madison WI at The Brink Lounge!

ENTER THE HAGGIS has made waves in the musicality of the genre, landing Billboard and iTunes World Music charting as well as major television appearances on shows like Live With Regis And Kelly, A&E Breakfast With the Arts and PBS’ popular program Out of Ireland, with its multi-influence style of Celtic rock. It’s the kind of overall sound and devotion package that has created not only die-hard fans, but “Haggis Heads” that follow the band from gig to gig.
Their new album dropped in May, and so now Madison gets a taste of what Haggis has to offer!

The doors will open at 7 pm, and the show will begin at 8 pm. It will be in the nightclub, and tickets will be

What do big, brooding post-rock epics and feisty emo have in common? They usually sound best when rawness balances out the whining, and since New York’s Moving Mountains basically tries to combine the two genres, it helps that they embrace direct, heavy playing and even some screams amid the morose crooning. Drummer Nick Pizzolato gives the four long tracks on the band’s recent Foreward a ballsy undertow that keeps things pumping ahead even amid the more drawn-out and ponderous bits. Synths and guitars build on influences like Explosions In The Sky and The Appleseed Cast, but without getting too stuck on them.
